GETTING READY FOR THE STAGE!

• Costumes will be sent home in the Spring after being tried on in class. Please put it somewhere safe and do not touch until Dress Rehearsal. We cannot guarantee a replacement if lost or damaged. Instructions for any included accessories will be put on the garment bag for the costume. 

• Girls should not wear underwear, but instead wear the included tights. We recommend purchasing a back-up pair. Boys should wear socks that match their shoe color. 

• Girls should have their hair in a low-bun with NO BANGS and wear neutral eyeshadows. Bun kits can be purchased in Fusion's office, and a video tutorial can be found at the bottom of this page. Boys should "do" their hair with gel or hairspray so that it does not fall in their eyes. 

• Nail polish or jewelry are not allowed on stage. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR DANCER WITH ANY VALUABLES.

 

DRESS REHEARSAL

• SET A CALENDAR REMINDER WITH YOUR DANCER'S DAY&TIME.

• Please plan accordingly to have your dancer ready (costume, hair, tights, shoes, makeup) prior to their assigned time so that rehearsal can remain on schedule.

• Grown-ups will remain in the auditorium while dancers are rehearsing. No parents will be allowed backstage or in the photo area. At the conclusion of their rehearsal, dancers will be escorted back to the auditorium. 

• Only one parent or guardian is permitted at dress rehearsal for each family.

• All dancers must attend their scheduled Dress Rehearsal or they will not be permitted to dance in the show.

• Videotaping during dress rehearsal is allowed. 

• Flash photography is prohibited.

RECITAL DAY

DRESSING ROOMS

• DANCERS MUST BE SIGNED IN 30 MINUTES BEFORE THEIR ASSIGNED SHOWTIME.

• Every dancer has an assigned group in the dressing room with dedicated staff for each group. AT DROP OFF each dancer MUST be signed in by a parent or guardian of the SAME GENDER. For safety reasons, THE SAME parent or guardian must sign them out at the end of the show. After signing in your dancer, you will be given ONE backstage wristband per family. If you need to come to the dressing room during the show, you must be wearing a wristband. Please note that there are many volunteers and staff backstage to assist with costume changing and bathroom breaks, so we encourage you to relax and enjoy the show! 

• Dancers must remain in the dressing room for the entire show. There are no exceptions. Dancers are not allowed in the auditorium. Siblings performing in the same show will be able to watch on the television that our videographer sets up in the dressing room. At the end of the show, every Dancer is brought back on stage to take a final bow and to receive a medal.

• Products with common allergens like nuts are not allowed in the dressing rooms. Our performances are short, please only send a snack if your dancer is in multiple performances. Please do not forget to remove your dancer's jewelry and to take it and other valuables with you.

AUDIENCE ETIQUETTE

When everyone puts the dancers first, recital is a memorable experience for all! To remain respectful of the dancers who worked so hard for their big moment, the following will be strictly enforced...

• EVERY SHOW STARTS ON TIME. Please allow yourself enough time to park and please remind members of your party that are arriving separately.

• All vehicles must be parked legally. Any cars blocking fire lanes will receive a ticket from Kenilworth Police.

• Doors CAN ONLY be opened BETWEEN dances. There will be NO exceptions. 

• Audience members MUST REMAIN SEATED DURING EACH DANCE. Please do not stand up. It blocks the view of other audience members and our videographer. 

• No flash photography or video is allowed. Tablet & cell phone use is prohibited! 

• Failure to follow the above may result in removal from the auditorium at the discretion of Fusion Staff & Kenilworth Police
